Starla Ballantine, owner of All About You Caregiving, has over 20 years of experience caring for seniors and she has had the privilege of being an integral part of the lives of many individuals.  Starla is proud to say that she has become true friends with each patient under her care as well as their families.  She has learned something from each of her patients, which has only helped to expand her knowledge and skills.  She utilizes the skills that come with any good caregiver but also has much more to offer her clients.  Starla often describes herself as an “Advocate for the elderly, their families and friends”.  This is what her clients receive when they hire her, as she will always be there for them in whatever capacity they require.

As a private caregiver in comparison to an agency, I am able to do much more for my clients without the impersonal and sometimes rigid disregard for the immediate needs of a client.  When an issue occurs, the client or client’s family and my self can make that decision immediately and together without having to call the office, then the office may call the administrator, then the administrator may have to call the nurse, etc.  No time is wasted in what could be a critical moment as well as the stress that does occur at these moments.

Another advantage to having a private caregiver is you always know who is going to be in your home that day, week or month.  There are no surprises.  There is no “training” yet another caregiver that’s new for that day.  That can be and usually is exhausting for the client and not necessary.
